Aéro-perles

The pilot of an airliner requested a clearance from 25,000 feet to cruise altitude of 31,000 feet. The conversation went something like this:

United 402: « United 402 requesting climb to flight level 310 »
ATC: « United 402 maintain flight level 250 for noise abatement ».
United 402: « What do you mean maintain 250 ‘for noise abatement’ ? ».
ATC: « If you climb and hit the traffic at 270, there will be a big noise. »

On a particularly windy and bumpy day, you could tell during the final that the Captain was really having to fight it, and after an extremely hard landing, the Flight Attendant announced on the PA « Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Amarillo. Please remain in your seats with your seat belts fastened while the Captain taxis what’s left of our airplane to the gate.. »

Heard at Frankfurt Airport, between an British Airways pilot and the german ground controller…

Speedbird : « Good morning Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of the active. »
Ground : « Guten morgan, taxi to your gate.
The BA 747 pulls onto the main taxiway and stops.
Ground : « Speedbird, do you not know where you are going ?! »
Speedbird : « Standby ground, I’m looking up the gate location now.
Ground (with typical German patience): « Speedbird, have you never been to Frankfurt before ?! »
Speedbird (coolly): « Yes, in 1944, but I didn’t stop. »

Tower : « Wind calm. No reported traffic. Use runway 32 or 14, your choice. »
Pilot : « Which runway is longer? »

Second voice : « NO ! You can’t be doing that ! I AM holding at 3000 over that beacon !!!
(brief pause, then first voice again) « You idiot, you’re my co-pilot… »

Heard on a BA Airbus 320 flight to Hambourg after a particularly heavy landing: « Good morning ladies and gentlemen, this is the captain speaking. It is normal on these occasions to blame the second pilot for any bad landing but I cannot lie… it was me ! » – followed by general laughter around the aircraft.

Pilot : « Approach, how far from the airport are we ? »
CTL : « N823, the faster you go the quicker you’ll get here. »

Pilot: « Approach, 202’s unable that descent rate. »
Approach: « What’s the matter 202? Don’t you have speed brakes? »
Pilot: « Yup. But they’re for my mistakes. Not yours. »

Tower: « …and for your information, you were slightly to the left of the centerline on that approach. »
Speedbird: « That’s correct; and, my First Officer was slightly to the right »

Pilot: « Center, this is USA553, maybe if you called her by the right name you’d get a better response! »

BB: « Barnburner 123, Request 8300 feet. »
Bay Approach: « Barnburner 123, say reason for requested altitude. »
BB: « Because the last 2 times I’ve been at 8500, I’ve nearly been run over by some bozo at 8500 feet going the wrong way! »
Bay: « That’s a good reason. 8300 approved. »

Controller: « Air Force 53, it appears your engine has… oh… disregard, I see you’ve already ejected. »

Pilot: « Bratislava Tower, this is Oscar Oscar Kilo estabished ILS 16. »

Pilot: (once again short break) « But why? We want to go to Bratislava, not to Vienna! »
Tower: « Oscar Oscar Kilo, roger. Discontinue approach, turn left and climb to 5000 feet, vectors to Bratislava. »

This T-38 pilot ran out of fuel and decided to put it down on a road. He managed to coast into a gas station and said to the attendant ‘Fill’er up !’
The attendant stared at the pilot.
« You look surprised, i bet you don’t get too many aeroplanes asking for fuel », said the pilot.
The attendant replied : « True, most pilots use this airport, on the other side oh the road !

During taxi, the crew of a US Air departure flight to Ft. Lauderdale made a wrong turn and came nose to nose with a United 727.

The irate ground controller (a female) lashed out at the US Air crew screaming : « US Air 2771, where are you going ? I told you to turn right on ‘Charlie’ taxi way; you turned right on ‘Delta’. Stop right there. I know it’s difficult to tell the difference between C’s and D’s but get it right ».Continuing her lashing to the embarrassed crew, she was now shouting hysterically, « God, you’ve screwed everything up; it’ll take forever to sort this out. You stay right there and don’t move until I tell you to. You can expect progressive taxi instructions in about a half hour and I want you to go exactly where I tell you, when I tell you,and how I tell you. You got that, US Air 2771 ?? »
Naturally, the ‘ground control’ frequence went terribly silent until an unknown male pilot broke the silence and asked : « Wasn’t I married to you once ?… »

Entendu sur la fréquence Tour de Toulouse Blagnac (118.10 MHz) :
Pilote:
-« Air France 120 Echo Bravo, on approche 4 nautiques finale ILS 33
gauche. »
Contrôleur:
-« Air France 120 Echo Bravo, autorise atterrissage piste 33 gauche, le
vent est calme. »
Pilote:
-« équipage aussi …  »

Pilote:
-« Finale 23, Air France Victor Delta.  »
Contrôleur:
-« Air France Victor Delta, autorise 23.

Entendu sur la fréquence Tour de Quimper Pluguffan (118.625 MHz) :
Pilote:
– » Roméo Juliett, courte finale 10, je me touche … Euh !, je touche.  »

l’information Delta.  » Contrôleur (sans se démonter) : – » Victor Lima,
vous avez un pistolet sur la tempe ?  » Pilote (surpris) : -« ??? Négatif,
Victor Lima.  »
Contrôleur:
-« Alors, Victor Lima, c’est un déroutement !!  »

Entendu sur la fréquence Tour de Toussus-le-Noble(119.30 MHz) : Un élève
pilote en navigation solo s’apprête à atterrir …
Pilote:
– » Fox Victor Zulu, finale 07 gauche.  »
Contrôleur:
– » Victor Zulu, autorise atterrissage 07 gauche, 090 degrés, 18 noeuds. »
Pilote:
-« J’atterris 07 gauche, Fox Victor Zulu.  »
Contrôleur (hilare) -« Victor Zulu, je me

L’instructeur:
-« C’est une bonne idée.  »
L’élève:
– » Euh, … la Tour, il y a un pélican, euh … sur la piste.  » Apres un
long silence :
Contrôleur:
-« Cessna Quebec Zulu, maintenez votre position.
